In terms of career progression, Coors delivers on its 'big shoes little feet' promise - I've been blessed with some amazing opportunities which have developed me enormously.
As a child I wanted to be a lawyer, perhaps even Prime Minister - I wanted to make a difference and become the best I could be, making my family proud. Upon leaving university, it soon became clear that achieving this would mean one too many sacrifices; I didn't want to live in London and didn't have a wallet big enough to fund my dreams.
So, I joined the HSBC graduate scheme and spent a number of years managing retail branches, SME business portfolios and sexy corporate finance transactions. The progression appeased me but there was something missing, work was good but not great and that wasn't enough. Week after week I'd watch my ever so contentious idol, Michael Schumacher, find real joy in his achievements, I wanted that but wasn't sure where to find it.
Eventually, I moved to Coors. To date, my four year journey has taken me through Finance to Sales where I am currently a Channel Director in the Multiple Grocers channel of Coors off-trade. Now my job fulfils me; I feel a real connection with Coors' values and feel constantly inspired by the people around me. In terms of career progression, Coors delivers on its 'big shoes little feet' promise, I've been blessed with some amazing opportunities which have developed me enormously. I finally feel my environment will allow me to make an impact and become the best I can be, Schumacher would love it!
It gets even better - at the risk of sounding corny, whilst we work hard, we play hard too. My personal life is full with my sports, hectic social life and tragic addiction to X-Factor! So, you can experience the buzz of real career achievement without all the downsides and if that isn't enough, we even get free beer!
