Matt outside of work
Outside work football pretty much controls my life. I play for West Bridgeford, Nottingham on a Saturday; Netherseal St Peters sports club on a Sunday and train two times within the week. Apart from football I love eating out and nights on the town with my friends. I'm very much a fair weather golfer and enjoy a good game of tennis. I don't think I could live without music and love going to festivals and seeing live bands.
Coors - Where it all started for me...
I started working for Coors on my placement year from university. I was successful in gaining a 13 month role as Logistics Supply Chain Developer. For me, this was a great footstep into the business and gave me a firm understanding of Coors supply chain and overall business. Toward the end of my placement I was offered the chance to carry on working for Coors in a logistics project based role whilst completing my degree. Together we were able to link my final year dissertations to projects that I would actually be involved in on a daily basis at Coors. In addition to every opportunity this gave me, it provided me with focus and concentration on achieving my goals, instead of popping down to the pub everyday for the student happy hours!
Since completing my degree I have taken on a full time role with Coors as a Logistics Project Analyst. The job is very similar to the one I was doing whilst studying my final year just with more responsibility and accountability, which if you're anything like me, you'd enjoy.
Why I enjoy working for Coors
For me, Coors is an amazing place to work and they've bent over backwards to help over the past few years. I believe working at Coors offers me the constant challenges that will, in time, help me reach my full potential. No matter where you are in Coors, and in whatever role, you're seen as part of the team and know your opinion counts. There are no limitations to what you can be involved in and even though my role is based within logistics I have been able to work with many departments throughout the business including Sales, Marketing and Production. There really is a world of opportunity and not only does that help me to understand the business in more detail; it also gives me a better understanding of what I want from the future. Last but not least, Coors is a super fun place to work, from the people to the beer, from the football tournaments to the rounders and BBQ evenings. Working at Coors has truly been a great experience.
